Where should I go in San Francisco to experience tribal bellydance?

I would like to go to a dance studio, buy some merchandise and/or see a live performance. Please, I’m from Argentina, and I came all the way to experience tribal bellydancing. I cannot go back home emptyhanded (I mean, without experience). Thank you all so much.

I want to start making my own costumes for tribal bellydancing, and I know I can buy this stuff in bulk on ebay, but I can’t remember what it’s called! It’s kind of lumpy, going from thin to thick, thin to thick, etc. It’s multicolored, with different varieties. Much thanks to any one who knows what it’s called! =)
