you cant learn belly dancing online honey…go to the ymca…it’s practically free and a lot more fun when you do it around other people …have fun!
There are lots of local schools where you can learn from!
good for you, its not like u can learn from sites, find someone in your area who teaches belly dancing, its an art
If you have a store in your town that sales movies you can find belly dancing videos there i have bought a couple myself.
Isn’t that just a dance when you shake your belly like mad and do jigs and wave your arms about? I suppose I’ve always thought anyone could teach themselves that dance. Guess I don’t know much about Dancing then LOL. I’m better at running. I hope you find all the info you need!!
Sorry, no sites but there are many tapes & in Kalamazoo, MI at Borgess Health Center a class is offered but they won’t let me go. If you are a forigner they will let you go though,they are very racist against white women here.they allow me no money,stole my bike,put sand in car engine,block employment,stole all my white babys,allow me blacks only to date,I am lonley needless to say…it’s very horrible here for this white girl. If you are forign you’d do well in Kalamazoo,MI.
Try your local community college. If they don’t offer a class I bet they know who does.

Well I haven’t found any sites at all. What I did was buy videos of Neena and Veena Bidasha. They are really good and each video is about 10 dollars dvd 6 dollars for vhs. You can go to Naturaljourneys.com to order, but if you don’t want to spend any money its gonna be hard. The closest you can get is in worldbellydance.com
The answer depends on why you want to dance. If you just want something different to do when you go out dancing, try Neon’s tapes (Instant Bellydancer, Bellydance Party, etc.)
If you want to learn to actually belly dance, you really need a teacher. There are a lot of videos out there, but you can seriously hurt yourself (back, knees, neck) if you don’t learn correct dance posture, and that’s very hard to do if you don’t have a teacher to correct you. As for beginner videos, I’d recommend the Sensuous Workout with Shamira Volume 2. This has an hour-long instructional section that teaches you the movements, and then it has a 30-minute workout section that puts those movements together into three dances. (Volume 1 is good too, but doesn’t have as detailed instruction.) You can get this on Amazon.
As for websites, you definitely won’t get what you need from a web page, but they can supplement classes and videos. There is a good list of resources at:
